Floranza Bypass Pruning Shears with Safety Lock

Trimming a rose, tidying a herb pot or cutting back spent flowers is quicker with a good pair of pruning shears. The Floranza Bypass Pruning Shears have a curved silver-tone blade that passes alongside a black hooked blade, so stems are cut between the two as the handles close.

A coil spring opens the handles after each cut, and a sliding orange safety lock near the pivot keeps the blades closed between jobs. The orange and black handles have ridged grip panels, and one handle has a hanging hole for storage.

• Cut just above a leaf node or side shoot, at a slight angle so water runs off the stem. Remove dead or damaged stems first, then shape the rest.
